One Room Challenge!  Week Four, Tile!

10/29/2020

This fourth week of the ORC has FLOWN by, and I'm sad to say, there's no wallpaper up yet.  There is however, tile everywhere!  All the tile is installed, grouted, and drywall has been patched.  Take a look...

I decided to use a large format tile, 24" x 48" to minimize grout lines.  I love how this looks!  Check out that ledge for all my products!

To offset the tile, and frame the wallpaper, I used a brass Schluter edge.  It's a simple finishing touch that makes the room look a little more polished.

And now with grout!  We're getting so close!

I was worried we would have to keep the studs flanking my vanity, which would RUIN my wallpaper feature wall.  Thankfully, after inspection, they weren't structural and they're gone!

I can say with 100% confidence, wallpaper will be installed this next week, walls will be painted, and and then it's on to the finishing details.  Thank you for hanging in this long, we're almost to the finish line.  Head over to Calling It Home and check out the other quest participants and featured designers.    Make sure you show up next week for a peek at the wallpaper, I can hardly wait to see it up!

One Room Challenge!  Week Three, Build!

Whew!  We're already at the half way mark for the One Room Challenge!  This week has been FULL of progress, so be prepared for lots of pictures in this post!

We started with a nice blank slate...

The plumber was on site running lines for the tub and reconfiguring the shower for the new fixture.

The shower framing is finished too!  Instead of a traditional niche, I wanted to have a ledge running the length of the shower.  I have lots of products and wanted plenty of room to spread them out.  All the cement board was installed and the new shower floor poured; we're going curb-less.

I've been busy working on the design details.  My wallpaper arrived this week and I'm trying to decide on paint colors for the two vanities.  The fabulous Schumacher wallpaper is going behind my vanity, and I don't want to compete with it.  I love green, so my thought was to match the background of the wallpaper, but go deeper on the color, so the cabinet just blends in and lets the paper really be the statement it's meant to be.

The colors in this wallpaper are SO saturated, the pictures don't do it justice.  I can't wait to see it on the wall!

Now that the dirty stuff is out of the way, it's time to get into the decorative elements.  This next week I expect the tile to be installed, the lights to go up, and faucets and fixtures to go in.  Then we can get onto painting, wallpaper, and finishing touches.  There's a lot to do in the next two weeks to be ready for photos, so fingers crossed all goes as planned!

Check out the other guest participants and see all the different room types being transformed.  We can all use the support to get us through the second half!
