I'm excited to share details on this major kitchen renovation I've been working on. While we're at it, we're tackling the laundry room and adding custom cabinetry in the dining room, but we'll get to that. This kitchen is a complete gut job and we're opening up walls to make it flow into the adjacent family room. Take a look at the plan for the space. This is the current kitchen, the fridge wall will come out, as will the existing laundry room, pantry and powder room walls. and we'll reconfigure everything We're using Classic White for the main cabinets, and Sherwin Williams Cyberspace for the base cabinets and island. We're using copper accents for this project, including this amazing 36" brushed copper sink from Havens. The new configuration includes a 9' island, with plenty of space for this family of 6. With the existing walls removed, we can work in a large wall of pantry cabinets and center the dining room entry on the larger windows. This also gives us space for a drop zone off the new covered patio addition. The existing dining room isn't symmetrical, and it's enough to drive any designer crazy! Now that the entrance to the kitchen is centered on the dining windows, my solution was to add custom cabinets to correct the asymmetry of the room. Problem solved! We'll feature an existing piece of art from my client and flank it will plenty of storage. A live edge counter will serve as a buffet and break up the expanse of white. We'll continue the copper accents by using these gorgeous Benson backplates and Harrison knobs from Addison Weeks. The powder room is going dark and dramatic. The walls will be covered in this metallic Phillip Jeffries paper, and we'll use a mix of bronze and copper fixtures to tie it into the adjacent kitchen. Demo is done and we're in the framing phase as we speak. Stay tuned to Instagram for updated stories as this renovation unfolds!
