it's finally here, reveal day for the One Room Challenge guest participants with Linda of blog Calling It Home. the journey to make over our master bedroom started seven weeks ago. normally the projects must be completed in six weeks, but Linda graciously extended the ORC an extra week this time around. what began as a kelly green, dated nightmare, is now a soothing, sophisticated retreat for mark and i to relax in. if you want to go back to the beginning and get caught up, that's great, or if you just want to get to the good stuff, i understand that too! the tasks for this project included painting the walls, adding a killer wallpaper, installing a new ceiling fan, upgrading to a king size bed, new window treatments, new bedside tables and storage, new bedding, new closet systems, new door knobs (throughout the house) and styling with special touches. the design for the room all started with a wallpaper. i had my eye on this zoffany paper for almost a year, as soon as it was released, and now i get to see it every day! i'm so in love!!! i can't wait to show you the before and afters, so let's dive in shall we? ah, the master bedroom before. i love green, but this is too much for even me to handle. the fan, curtain rods and wall mounted lamps had to go. at least the carpet was new and the room was a good size. and here is my master bedroom now. so. much. better. i smile every time i walk in here! i still can't believe this is our room now, it's such a drastic difference! the room is filled with lots of blush pink, but it's balanced by heavy doses of navy and black to keep it from being too feminine. i have a lot of favorite pieces in here, but one in particular is the vintage chest i picked up at a local shop. they lacquered it creamy white for me and it is perfect for storing extra clothes. i feel like the lines show up so much better now. now, lots of details! i wasn't happy with the closets yet, so i'm saving those details for a later blog post. for now, here are my resources for this project. wallpaper - zoffany wall paint - benjamin moore 'chelsea gray' ceiling paint - benjamin moore 'bashful' ceiling fan - wayfair bedside tables - interlude home lamps - vintage via slate interiors mirrors - vintage king bed - tov chinese regency chest - vintage via reinvented charlotte bedding - west elm decorative pillows - windy o'connor home throw - cynthia rowley art - hayley mitchell brass antelope - vintage via slate interiors white vase - cb2 carved wooden box - vintage via slate interiors panel fabric - clarke & clarke custom made door knobs - emtek i want to give a special thanks to my friend and awesome photographer erica mark for her time and talent capturing my room and all its details. we had some great laughs getting some of these shots! as always, thank you to Linda at Calling It Home for creating the ORC and allowing guests to join in, i always look forward to this and am happy to have my fifth challenge completed! thanks also to media partner house beautiful and to home love network for checking out all the projects! thank you all for being here and following along! let's do this again next spring!
xoxo

This room is stunning! I have always loved Navy Blue! The ceiling fan is unique and the other accessories are just perfect for this room! The decorative pillows add just the right touch. I also love that you incorporated the blush accents. So UPSCALE and inviting! Excellent finished 0project!
